On December 10 we rode the train (front runner) to Salt Lake City.  We left around 9:00 and it was freezing here.  When we got down there, there was a horrible inversion so it was pretty warm.  We were just about the only ones on the train so we had card games going on, music, and a whole lot of talking.  We tried to enforce the "buddy system" but, we had more of a "buddy group" Allison Huish, Noah Mercado, Ethan Gabler, Breno Azevado (our Brazilian foreign exchange student) and me.  When we arrived in Salt lake we rode the Trax to the Joesph Smith Memorial building and had lunch.  After lunch we walked over and watched a movie about Joesph Smith and the First Vision.  Then we went back to the visitor center and took a tour of Temple Square, the conference center, and the tabernacle.  We even got to visit the roof of the conference center and see all of the valley.  After the tours we went to the Lion House Pantry and had dinner.  It was delicious.  After dinner we were able to go see the lights and the nativity scenes.  It was so beautiful.  Our big group was together most of the time but occasionally broke off, it was so cold so we went into the tabernacle and listened to some chamber choirs before we got back on the Trax.  The Trax were packed though, we all jammed onto the train and made it back to the Front Runner.  Once again the train was packed so we had 4-5 of us sitting on the floor, luckily I didn't have to sit on the floor instead there were 4 seats left so Allison, Ethan, Noah and I all just hung out together.  Overall it was a amazing trip.
